Avondale listed on the open panel for Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora

Our Avondale site is now officially listed on the open panel for Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, extending supply of sterile compounded products to all public hospitals in New Zealand.

Slade Health Country Manager (NZ) Philippa Trout said the Avondale team has already started their extended supply and received positive feedback from the hospitals.

“I am so proud of the Avondale team for their constant commitment to the delivery of high-quality care and service for our hospital partners and patients.”

Geebung supporting our Queensland hospital partners

Last December during the North Queensland cyclone and floods, Slade delivered an early Christmas gift to Cairns Hospital and its patients – transporting chemotherapy from our Geebung site in Brisbane to Cairns in Far North Queensland despite disrupted transport routes.

Our Key Account Manager, Gail Barnes and the Geebung team helped troubleshoot solutions to the logistical problems posed by ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper to ensure the Cairns Hospital team received chemotherapy products for their patients on Tuesday 19 December.

Recently our Geebung team supplied their first batch of oncology infusions to the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, under its new supply agreement for compounded chemotherapy and biologics. With a fully integrated service, Slade is excited to be partnering with Mater to provide patients with exceptional products and care.

Very Special Kids 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge

This weekend our Victorian team members are lacing up their shoes to walk, jog and run in the Very Special Kids (VSK) 24-Hour Treadmill Challenge in support of our friend, Liv Read, and her family. This year marks our 12th year supporting the incredible work of VSK who provide 24-hour care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

If you are able and would like to support our team in the 24-hour treadmill challenge, please donate here.

Celebrating our talented women across Slade Health

On International Women’s Day in March, we celebrated and recognised the women across Slade Health who inspire us with their innovation, expertise, and compassion to make more care possible across Australia and New Zealand.

These women are dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes and making a difference in all the lives of patients. They lead the key functions of sales, finance, and regulatory, as well as operational management across our sites.

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to our success, and remain committed to creating a workplace of belonging and equality for all.

To mark the day, we spoke with female leaders across Slade Health – including Philippa Trout – about their leadership journey, overcoming the barriers they faced, and what they are doing to empower their female teams.

Happy International Clinical Trials Day!

We are proud to celebrate 20 May as International Clinical Trials Day at Slade Health. This day pays tribute to the scientists, healthcare professionals, study teams and, importantly, the trial participants who together drive advancements in medicine, ensuring better and safer treatments for all. In the last year we have:

  • Serviced 345+ clinical trials
  • Made 8,000+ clinical trial products
  • Reached 1,000+ trial patients

Thank you for your contribution to ensuring we provide quality compounded sterile trial products for these patients in our communities. Let’s honour this important work, raise awareness, and appreciate the crucial role of clinical trials in improving patient healthcare around the world.
