What matters to Slade

He aha ngā take nui ki a Slade

Supporting our local communities

At Slade, we are passionate about giving back to the local communities that we live and work in, as well as recognising our broader responsibilities as part of the Australian and New Zealand health care industries.

As part of Icon Group, we support several non-profit organisations within and outside the oncology field.

  • CEO Sleepout
  • Dancing CEOs
  • GirlUp
  • Manup
  • Very Special Kids (VSK)

Reducing the burden of cancer

Slade is a proud supporter of Can Assist, an Australian organisation committed to ensuring that people living rural and regional areas of NSW have access to cancer treatment and care.

As part of Icon Group, we are also proud to support the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), who work to make a global difference to countries and cities that do not have access to adequate cancer care services.

Icon Group maintains strong relationships with key advocacy bodies for the prevention and cure of cancer and blood disorders. We support a number of events that provide relief to cancer patients and their families and raise awareness of the cancer burden being faced at a local and international level.

Some of these include:

  • Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
  • Relay for Life (across Australia and Singapore)
  • Tour de Cure
  • Transport to Treatment
  • Shave for a Cure

Slade also supply complimentary care packs for our hospital partners to provide to their patients with cancer.

Every product has been chosen for its clinically-proven assistance with some of the most common side effects of chemotherapy.

Responsible manufacturing

Slade has sustainability practices and sustainable procurement.

Recycling of materials and reducing our carbon footprint through practical initiatives such as reusing packaging to reduce landfill waste, is a core consideration in all that we do. We are continually reviewing our practices and are currently focused on the following initiatives:

  • Energy and water efficiency
  • Minimising transportation
  • Recycling and reusing packaging
  • Reducing paper waste
